PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing prenyl alcohol in high production efficiency. SOLUTION: Prenyl alcohol is produced by culturing a cell under a condition to lower pyruvic acid carboxylase activity and lower squalene synthetase activity and recovering prenyl alcohol from the cultured product.
