<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly, low-cost image forming apparatus such that component elements including an image forming apparatus, an image data input device and an image formation mode setting means, all conventionally constituting an MFP, and a controller for controlling them to do copying action, are distributed over a network so as to avoid conflict that could cause a problem in a system where the controller is constructed of a personal computer that is advantageous in terms of cost and maintainability. <P>SOLUTION: When a connection to a controller 7 controlling a group of devices recognized by an operating part unit 5 as being a set of devices is selected from among at least one or more controllers 7 on a network upon a request from the group of devices and if any of the controllers to be selected has already been selected by another group of devices, the selection of the connection to the controller 7 is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
