<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recorder in which carbon black is used as a black pigment excellent in optical density, water resistance and light resistance while satisfying the quality of black images such as sharpness at an edge part of the images and the thickening of lines. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording method and the ink jet recorder, black ink and color ink are discharged on a recording medium 1 to record color images from a recording head 3 comprising, respectively, a black ink recording head for discharging black ink on the recording head and a color ink recording head for discharging at least one of cyan ink, magenta ink and yellow ink on the recording medium. The black ink comprises carbon black, water, a water-soluble organic solvent and a water-soluble polymer with an anionic functional group, wherein the drying time of the ink on the recording medium is made to be 5s or more. On the other hand, at least one of the color inks comprises a color material, water, a water-soluble organic solvent and a flocculant, wherein the drying time of the ink on the recording medium is made to be 5s or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
