<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which toner remaining on an image carrier is surely removed under the various kinds of circumstances. <P>SOLUTION: Proper bias voltage corresponding to the detected result of a temperature and humidity sensor is extracted (#45) from a first correction table where proper bias voltage corresponding to the electric characteristic of residual toner after transfer is preset for the residual toner after transfer remaining on an intermediate carrier after a toner image is transferred to a sheet at a normal operation time, and is applied to a cleaning brush for the intermediate carrier (#50). On the other hand, proper bias voltage corresponding to the detected result of the temperature and humidity sensor is extracted (#90) from a second correction table where proper bias voltage corresponding to the electric characteristic of untransferred toner is preset for the untransferred toner remaining on the intermediate carrier at a jamming time and in an image density adjusting mode, and is applied to the cleaning brush for the intermediate carrier (#50). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
