<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of rapidly reading an original by simplifying the reading operation of originals of an original bundle in which index originals and text originals are mixed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a first reading mode for reading a first original bundle formed by bundling index originals on the uppermost of a text original. When executing the first reading mode, a control means operates an image reading means to allow it to read the image data of an original from the first original bundle, and operates a number of original pages storage means and an index original page number storage means to allow the number of original pages storage means, to store the number of pages of the original transferred from the first original bundle and the index original page number storage means to store the number of pages of the original firstly transferred from the first original bundle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
