摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium wherein surface electric resistance is reduced while satisfactory running stability and running durability are secured. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium 10 has a lower layer non-recording layer 2 and a magnetic layer 3 formed by applying a magnetic paint containing magnetic powder and having≤0.2μm film thickness on at least one principal surface of a non-magnetic substrate 1. Carbon deposition particles 7 formed by depositing carbon black fine particles 6 on the surfaces of silica particles 5 are contained in the lower layer non-recording layer 2.
