PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and compact gas-liquid separator capable of surely carrying out gas-liquid separations, and to provide an analyzing apparatus using the separator. SOLUTION: The gas-liquid separator is provided with an inlet into which a sample having coexistent gas and liquid is introduced; a space section having a prescribed volume through which the sample passes; an outlet from which the sample consisting chiefly of the gas is exhausted; and a drain outlet from which drainage is discharged. The space section is cooled by using vaporization heat of water. It is preferable that a portion or the whole of a region surrounding the space section is covered by a water retentive member, or that the water retentive member is arranged between the space section and a means enabling wind to hit against the space section in a prescribed direction. Furthermore, it is preferable that the water is a portion of liquid material or the drainage coexisting in the sample. The above gas-liquid separator is installed on the analyzing apparatus, and it is preferable that pretreatment of the sample is carried out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
