PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a rotor bearing by a sucked refrigerant, to prevent deviation of a shaft center by thermal expansion of the rotor bearing and reduction in efficiency caused by that, and to reduce size and weight. SOLUTION: A suction hole opening and facing inside of a compression space of a compression mechanism and a suction passage extending in a direction parallel to a face having the suction hole are integrally provided for either a front part side plate or a rear part side plate constituting the compression mechanism. One end of the suction passage is communicated with the suction hole, and the other end of the suction passage is communicated with a suction port provided for an outer hull part of the compressor. Accordingly, the side plates are cooled by a low temperature refrigerant flowing on the side plates, and generation of working noises and reduction in efficiency caused by thermal expansion of a bearing housing which supports the compression mechanism and enlargement of a bearing clearance are suppressed.
