PLANAR OPTICAL WAVE CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar optical wave circuit with which an easy and low-cost high function optical circuit module can be manufactured. SOLUTION: The planar optical wave circuit 21 is connected with an optical fiber array 24 and an optical waveguide 23 in the input side and the output side by optical coupling on two end faces of the circuit, and is provided with electric wiring 22 lead out from other two end faces. An electric connector is installed in a component to be connected to the electric wiring 22 of the planar optical wave circuit 21. Or, an electric connector 25 is installed in a component to be connected such as a printed board 26 having electric components 27 fabricated. The electric connector 25 is prepared to match the pitch of the electric wiring 22 so that electric signals can be retrieved to the outside from the planar optical wave circuit 21. By constituting the planar optical wave circuit 21 as above described, the planar optical wave circuit 21 can be electrically driven only by connecting the electric connector 25 to the electric wiring 22 of the circuit 21.
