PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performable effective sterile filtration even if a liquid is left in an atomizing means. SOLUTION: This humidifier is constituted so that it delivers the water fed into a water tank 12 from a tank 11 to an atomizing tank 15 through a sterile filtration means 18. When a sterile filtration switch 2 is operated, a pump 19 operates and the water in the atomizing tank 15 on the downstream side of the sterile filtration means 18 is returned to the upstream side of the sterile filtration means 18. As a result, even if the water is left in the atomizing tank for a long time, bacteria under the water in the atomizing tank 15 can be restrained from growing, thus effective sterile filtration by the sterile filtration means 18 can be performed.
