PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boot having improved durability and improved sealing performance at a separate portion of a separate type, to be expected. SOLUTION: The boot for a universal joint comprises a bellows portion 15 formed of a rubber elastic material between a small diameter ring portion 11 and a large diameter ring portion 13, the separate portion D1 (D2) formed in a linear shape ranging from the small diameter ring portion 11 to the large diameter ring portion 15, the separate portion D1 (D2) being a thick portion, and a seal fastener F arranged thereon. Along a bus line ranging from the small diameter ring portion 11 to the large diameter ring porion 13 of the bellows portion 15, at least one streak of stress relief groove 17 is formed in the inner face and/or the outer face.
