PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal-combustion engine capable of sensing the idling position of a throttle element simply and certainly. SOLUTION: The internal-combustion engine has a suction passage 12 where the throttle element is installed. The throttle element is supported rotatably by a throttle shaft 14 between the idling position 48 and the full throttle position 49. A stopper 27 to abut in the idling position 48 to a stopper element installed in the suction passage 12 is coupled with the throttle shaft 14 in such a way as not making relative rotation. The stopper element is adjustable in the position and decides the idling position 48 of the throttle element. The invention applies to this type of internal-combustion engine, in which the stopper 27 constitutes together with the stopper element (idling adjusting screw 17), a switch operated in the idling position 48 of the throttle element.
