PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oxidative dyestuff composition containing a cationic polymer. SOLUTION: This oxidative dyestuff composition for dyeing a keratin fiber, especially human keratin fibers, e.g. hair contains the followings in a medium suitable for dyeing. (a) At least one oxidative dyestuff. (b) At least one fatty alcohol without being converted to oxyalkylene. (c) At least one associative polymer. (d) An amide of at least one alkanol amine with a 14-30C fatty acid. The oxidative dyestuff composition has a satisfactory consistency and stable viscosity for a long period without increasing the fatty alcohol content or using another thickening agent of a crosslinked polyacrylic acid type.
