PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a fluorinated alkylamine which enables use of general-purpose stainless steel as an apparatus material without by-producing a highly corrosive ammonium halide, can use a general-purpose raw material (a fluorinated alkyl alcohol) without requiring a specific raw material such as a nitrile compound and a nitro compound corresponding to the target fluorinated alkylamine, and moreover enables the preparation of the fluorinated alkylamine by one step reaction. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the fluorinated alkylamine comprises bringing the fluorinated alkyl alcohol, ammonia and, if necessary, hydrogen into contact with a metallic catalyst and/or a solid acid catalyst.
