PURPOSE: To provide a remedial fluid for pushing dense non-aqueous phase liquids trapped in dead-end fracture of rock bed or dead-pore of soil isolated from a fluid flow path to the fluid flow path, thereby enabling the dense non-aqueous phase liquids to be remediated, and a remediation method using the remedial fluid. CONSTITUTION: In a remedial fluid for remediating dense non-aqueous phase liquids trapped in a part cut off from flowing of water in subsurface media, the remedial fluid is characterized in that it is prepared by mixing a surfactant with a dense fluid having higher specific gravity than that of the dense non-aqueous phase liquids, wherein the part cut off from flowing of water is dead-end fracture of rock bed or dead-pore of soil. The remediation method is characterized in that the remedial fluid is used to remove the dense non-aqueous phase liquids trapped in dead-end fracture of rock bed or dead-pore of soil cut off from flowing of water in subsurface media.
