METHOD FOR DRIVING BACK LIGHT UNIT OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY TO MINIMIZE DECREASE IN BRIGHTNESS

PURPOSE: A method for driving a back light unit of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to minimize a decrease in brightness by sequentially inputting video data and black data and turning off back light for black-data-inserted regions. CONSTITUTION: A control signal including data and a vertical synchronous signal is applied. Video data(44) and black data([6) are sequentially input for one period during which the vertical synchronous signal is applied. A lamp of a back light unit(42) is turned on for regions to which the video data is inputted and the lamp is turned off for regions to which the black data is input. The data input for one period is data of one frame, which is split into regions. The black data is inserted into the split regions.
