<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a glass fine particle deposited body by which the crack of the glass deposited body deposited on a starting material or the peeling off from the staring material hardly occurs and excellent productivity is attained in the manufacture of the glass fine particle deposited body by the VAD method. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the glass fine particle deposited body by the VAD method, the glass fine particle deposited body is deposited so as to satisfy the relation of 50≤(L×X/W)≤35,000 and/or 3.33≤(L×X/D)≤700 among the total weight W or the average outside diameter D of the glass fine particle deposited body deposited on the starting material, the average outside diameter X of the starting material and the length L of a part of the starting material on which the glass fine particle deposited body is stuck. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
