<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically select and print the number of link hierarchies suiting the specified number of pages, to save the number of printed sheets by regarding the link hierarchies as priority and reducing the number of output sheets, and to output the specified number of link hierarchies in correspondence to a specified number of sheets. <P>SOLUTION: The print control unit provided with a printing means for the document provided with the link information has a selection means for selecting the number of sheets to be outputted, and a link hierarchy determining means for determining the number of link hierarchies that can be printed from the selected number of sheets to be outputted.
