PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost vending machine which is nearly as wide as an article shelf and can securely transfer an article between the article shelf and a bucket. SOLUTION: This vending machine is equipped with a plurality of article conveyance units which each have a fixed gear arranged in an article line on the side of its head article and convey the article line to the head article side as the fixed gear rotates, the article shelf where the plurality of article conveyance units are mounted at fixed intervals or different intervals orthogonally to the conveyance direction of the article line, and the bucket 90 which has an article receiving port opposite to two or more adjacent article conveyance units mounted at the fixed intervals on the article shelf and receives the head article in the article line by orthogonally moving the article receiving opening within a range wherein it faces article conveyance units mounted on both end parts of the article shelf. Further, the bucket 90 has a plurality of movable gears which are selectively engaged with fixed gears of the plurality of article conveyance units according to the positions where it faces the plurality of article conveyance units to transmit driving power for conveying the article line toward the head article.
