PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable low cost pantograph for vehicle in which fracture of an insulator and cutting of a stringing can be prevented when a large force acts on a collector shoe by damaging a balance rod and lowering the pantograph. SOLUTION: A V groove is made in a pin at a linking part 7a or 3c supporting a balance rod 6 rotatably. Since shear fracture takes place in the pin when a large force acts on a collector shoe 1, supporting point of the balance rod is lost and the unbalanced frame falls entirely backward in the traveling direction to separate from the stringing 10 thus preventing serious accident, e.g. cutting of the stringing or fracture of an insulator. Alternatively, a coupling connecting the balance rod 6 with the pin and the balance rod 6 may be fastened with a rivet susceptible to shear fracture. With such an arrangement, reliability can be enhanced without having an effect on the essential performance of the pantograph. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
