PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed floating separation method capable of floating and separating suspended particles in raw water of every kind at an extremely high speed by simple operation and dispensing with an air compressor and air dissolving equipment. SOLUTION: At least buoyant particles and an organic polymeric flocculant are added to water to be treated containing a substance to be removed under stirring to cause flocs of the substance to be removed to adhere on the buoyant particles. The flocs adhering to the buoyant particles of the substance to be removed are floated and separated in a floating separation part, and the floated separated water, from which the flocs are removed by floating separation, is allowed to flow down and passed through a rotary net provided to the lower part of the floating separation part not only to take out treated water from the lower part of the net but also to suck and remove the solid matter caught on the net by a suction water flow producing member provided in close vicinity in the radial direction of the surface of the net. In this high speed floating separation method, a fixed type net is provided in place of the rotary net and the suction water flow producing member can also be provided rotatably.
