PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor operated valve capable of reducing flowing noise generated while a coolant flow flowing into a coolant chamber from a first coolant flowing passage open to the coolant chamber in such a direction as to cross the valve element axis. SOLUTION: A heat source side expansion valve 26 includes a drive mechanism 41, a valve element 42 and a valve body 43. The valve element 42 is equipped with a valve head 42a on one end and is advanced and retreated in the axial direction by the drive mechanism 41. The valve body 43 includes a coolant chamber 43a formed out of a hollow space inserted with the valve element 42, two first coolant flow passages 43b, 43c open to the coolant chamber 43a in such a direction as to cross a valve body axis, a second coolant flow passage 43d open so as to face the valve head 42a, and a valve seat 43e for varying the flow passage area of coolant in a space to the valve head 42a by advancing and retreating the valve element 42.
