[Also in Division C3] Paper is coated with a composition containing a latex of an ethylene-propylene copolymer modified by the attachment thereto of a plurality of polar groups. Ledger stock is coated using a standard machine with a composition oamprising, in Examples 1 and 2, a latex of an ethylene-propylene copolymer modified with maleic anhydride, kaolin and sodium pyrophosphate, in Example 3 a latex of an ethylene-propylene copolymer modified with PC1 3 and diethanolamine and in Examples 4 and 5 a latex of an ethylene-propylene copolymer modified with maleic anhydride, allylamine or 2-vinyl pyridine, clay, sodium caseinate, starch and sodium pyrophosphate.
