PURPOSE: A display device is provided to reduce the region excluding a display region of the display device. CONSTITUTION: A display device comprises a substrate(2); a driver circuit mounted on the substrate; a coating film(8) coating the driver circuit; and a display unit arranged as pixels on the coating film, and driven by the driver circuit. The display unit has a pair of electrodes, and a plurality of optical elements for displaying optical operation in accordance with the current flowing between the pair of electrodes. The optical elements have a plurality of first conductive wires formed on the coating film; a plurality of second conductive wires arranged perpendicularly to the first conductive wires; and electroluminescence layers interposed between the first conductive wires and the second conductive wires.
