<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus constituted so that an image carrier for carrying a toner image to be developed and a cleaning blade for cleaning the image carrier are prevented from extremely deteriorating. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with the cleaning blade which is attached to a prescribed supporting member so as to remove the residual toner after transfer remaining on the surface of the image carrier after the toner image on the image carrier is transferred to another member in contact with the surface of the image carrier. The image forming apparatus is provided with a humidity detecting part for detecting humidity, and a lubricant supply part for supplying the lubricant in accordance with the humidity detected by the humidity detecting part, while reducing the supply amount of the lubricant to the image carrier in the case the humidity is relatively high, increasing the supply amount of the lubricant to the image carrier in the case the humidity is relatively low. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
