PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type heat exchanger enabling easy handling and installing, requiring only a small installation space and maintaining thermal efficiency by constituting the heat transfer means of this heat exchanger in a drum shape and restraining the size to be compact. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger body has an outside air discharge port and an inside air intake port on the front surface and an outside air intake port and an inside air discharge port on both sides respectively and allows indoor air to go out and come in by sectioning the inner part into a chamber for outside air and a chamber for inside air by an interrupting board arranged in the longitudinal direction. This heat exchanger includes a heat transfer drum being arranged thoroughly inside of both side chambers in parallel along the longitudinal direction inside the heat exchanger body, having both rotatable end parts with being supported by a plurality of rollers, and performing heat exchange actions between inside air and outside air with rotating through both side chambers, and a drive motor positioning to one side in the heat exchanger body and rotating the heat transfer drum connected via a belt.
