PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the adequate operation of driving circuits possible by an optical retardation compensation circuit of an electrooptical device and to reduce the size over the entire part of the device. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is provided with a clock signal line (521) which makes connection from a clock signal terminal (511) to an optical retardation compensation circuit (500) without branching and from the optical retardation compensation circuit to a scanning line driving circuit (104R) without branching and supplies the clock signal CLX from the clock signal terminal through the optical retardation compensation circuit to the scanning line driving circuit (104R) and makes connection from the scanning line driving circuit (104R) to the scanning line driving circuit (104L) without branching and supplies the clock signal from the scanning line driving circuit (104R) to the scanning line driving circuit (104L).
