PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal gasket having excellent durability and excellent sealability around a combustion chamber hole and manufacturable at a low cost. SOLUTION: This metal gasket installed between a cylinder block and a cylinder head comprises a rolled metal plate having a crest part and a valley part formed thereon by adjusting the plate thickness thereof. The top part 6A of the crest part 4A is positioned on the approximate centerline N of the combustion chamber hole 2A. The metal gasket comprises a gasket formation plate 1A on which the crest part 4A and the valley part 5A are disposed so that the bottom part 7A of the valley part 5A adjacent to the crest part 4A is positioned on the approximate centerline B of the bolt insert hole.
