PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll type fluid machine capable of reducing the number of parts of a discharge valve and facilitating its assembly. SOLUTION: This scroll type fluid machine as a fluid machine is constituted in such a way that the discharge valve 62 for discharging compression operation gas is provided in a discharge chamber 60 in a casing 28, and a valve element 66 of the discharge valve 62 has a gas receive face 68 for receiving valve closing gas stream GF flowing along a flow passage in the discharge chamber 60 and giving valve closing force to the valve element 66.
