PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide splittable conjugate fiber capable of easily obtaining a nonwoven fabric( fiber sheet ) as the constituent base for artificial leathers excellent in dyeability, having soft touch feeling and comprising extra-fine fibers. SOLUTION: The splittable conjugate fiber for artificial leathers is composed of a polycapramide polymer as one component A and polytetramethylene terephthalate as the other component B, being splittable into extra-fine fibers and meeting the physical properties(1)-(4) described below:(1) fineness is 1.3-2.5 dtex, (2) number of crimps is 10/25mm to 20/25mm, (3) percentage crimp is 9-15%, and (4) fiber length is 25-76 mm.
