PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile-like solid fertilizer of which the injection molding contains a large quantity of fertilizer, and nonetheless secures practically sufficient strength necessary for being driven into soil and to provide a method of manufacturing the same by which the pretreatment of the molding materials including fertilizer is neddless and the management of the material in the injection molding process is facilitated. SOLUTION: A granular body A composed of a composition prepared by blending 15-35 wt.% polyvinyl alcohol-based resin with a solid granular fertilizer is supplied to an inline type injection molding machine and injection molded. The inline type injection machine has: a screw shaft 2 which has a spiral flight 1a being in slide contact with the inner circumference of a cylinder 1 and formed on the circumferential surface of the shaft; a screw head 3 on the distal end of the screw shaft; and an axially freely slidable ring like check valve 4 at the root part of the screw head. The check valve 4 is brought into close contact with a flange-like valve seat 5 at a position where the check valve 4 is slidingly moved back along the screw shaft 2 to close a passage (a gap between the ring like check valve 4 and the screw shaft 2) for passing the fluidized granular solid fertilizer toward the screw head.
