PURPOSE: A method for registering and automatically connecting an extension number using an intelligent network personal number service and a system thereof are provided to inform another person of a personal number, registered with both an extension number and a phone number, instead of announcing them separately. CONSTITUTION: A telephone network(200) receives a service call from a personal number service user(100). A service executing exchange(300), connected with the telephone network(200), transfers a personal number service. A common line signalling network(400), connected with the service executing exchange(300) and an intelligent peripheral unit(700), forwards service control information. A service control system(500), connected to the common line signalling network(400), executes personal number service calls. A service management system(600), connected to the service control system(500), manages service data. The intelligent peripheral unit(700), executes an auxiliary function for the personal number service, such as announcement sending, digit collection, etc. A private exchange(800) holds subscribers' extension numbers. |
