<p>A steering device where power can be smoothly transmitted and production of rattling noise can be prevented, which are achieved by appropriately adjusting the movable range of inter-axis distance between a pinion and a rack shaft. Regulating a screw-in amount of a screw member (125) causes a compression amount of a disc spring (126) to vary, and this allows the position and pressing force of a roller (123) relative to a rack shaft (110) to be adjusted. In the adjustment, rotational force of the screw member (125) is transmitted to a holder (121) through the disc spring (126). However, the roller (123) cannot rotate because flange portions (123b) of the roller (123) are each in contact with a face (110c) in a recess of the rack shaft (110). As a result, the position and pressing force of the roller (123) relative to the rack shaft (110) can be appropriately set. Further, a rolling surface (123a) of the roller (123) is a cylindrical surface, so that, even when the roller (123) rotates within play, the positional relationship between the roller (123) and the rack shaft (110) does not change.</p> |
