PURPOSE: A braking method and a device in stopping a vehicle are provided to reduce fatigue of a driver by keeping a brake operation condition on the downhill or uphill without continuous operating force of the driver for the brake system. CONSTITUTION: A braking method in stopping a vehicle is composed of steps for installing an actuator having a valve unit for intermitting the inflow and outflow of working fluid between a vehicle body(100) and a brake pedal(40); judging driving and stopping conditions of the vehicle by using information output from a speed sensor(73) and a brake system of the vehicle; and retaining and releasing the operation state of the brake system by fixing or releasing position of the brake pedal with the actuator by controlling the valve unit according to operation and release conditions of the valve unit.
