LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME TO FORM BARRIERS USING SPACER AND POLYMER

PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the LCD are provided to solve problems of conventional polymer barriers by forming barriers using a spacer and attaching polymer to the barriers to strengthen the barriers. CONSTITUTION: An LCD includes a front substrate(21) on which an upper transparent electrode(25a) is formed, and a back substrate(23) on which a lower transparent electrode(25b) facing the upper transparent electrode is formed. The LCD further includes an alignment film(27) coated on each of the front substrate and back substrate including the upper and lower transparent electrodes, and spacer polymer barriers(29) formed between the alignment films to maintain a cell gap between the front and back substrates. The spacer polymer barriers are formed of a mixture of liquid crystal, UV-hardened polymer and spacers.
