IGNITION BILLET FOR HEARTH REPAIRING FOR PREVENTING PROTUBERANCE OF REFRACTORIES AND EXTENDING LIFE OF LOWER ELECTRODES BY IMPROVING SHAPE AND STRUCTURE OF IGNITION BILLET

PURPOSE: To provide an ignition billet for hearth repairing, wherein shape and structure of an ignition billet inserted into the lower electrodes when repairing hearth of an electric furnace are improved to prevent protuberance of refractories after repairing hearth, extend life of expensive lower electrodes and prevent outflow accident of molten steel accordingly. CONSTITUTION: In an ignition billet inserted into electrode holes of lower electrodes of an electric furnace when repairing hearth of the electric furnace, the ignition billet for hearth repairing comprises a pair of insertion pipes(50) of which lower part is tapered in such a shape that diameter of the pipes is reduced so that the pipes are inserted into the electrode holes respectively; a guide bar(52) and a lifting bar(54) installed on an upper part of the insertion pipes to connect and fix the insertion pipes; and pistols(56) which are inserted into the insertion pipes, has a specific gravity lower than molten steel and has electro-conductive property, wherein the pistols are formed of a carbon material.
