MAGNETIC RECORDING DISC HAVING AN AFC FILM, PARTICULARLY ABOUT A MAGNETIC ELEMENT USING A FERROMAGNETIC LAYER EXCHANGE-COUPLED ANTI-FERROMAGNETICALLY BY THE AFC FILM

PURPOSE: A magnetic recording disc having an AFC(Anti Ferromagnetic Coupling) film is provided to increase anti ferromagnetic exchange coupling strength between a free anti ferromagnetic layer and a fixed anti ferromagnetic layer. CONSTITUTION: An AFC film is an alloy made of Ru and Fe, wherein the composition ratio is Ru(100-x)Fe(x) and the x value roughly is between 10 atomic wt.% and 60 atomic wt.%. A magnetic recording disk having a ferromagnetic structure which is composed of two ferromagnetic layers coupled anti-ferromagnetically with the AFC film. The AFC film increases exchange coupling strength by one time or two times and has an HCP(Hexagonal Close-Packed) structure for making the AFC film be compatible with a ferromagnetic layer, that is, an alloy made of Co.
