<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of preventing the inside of the air cleaner from being filled with smell. <P>SOLUTION: This air cleaner is provided with a dust collecting filter 10, a fan motor is driven with a rotating frequency corresponding to a predetermined air volume when an operation switch 5a is in an ON state, and the driving of the fan motor is stopped, and the air cleaner 1 is brought into an OFF state, when the operation switch 5a is in an OFF state. Here, only the fan motor is rotated with the low rotating frequency not to be notified by a user for a specific time (four minutes), when more the the predetermined time (16 minutes) has passed, and the operation is repeatedly executed until the operation switch 5a is switched ON.
