摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an improvement in energy efficiency and simplification of a device, in a motive power output device which is equipped with an engine, two motive power distributing and integrating mechanisms, and three motors. <P>SOLUTION: In the first motive power distributing and integrating mechanism 30, the engine 22 is connected to a carrier 34, a motor MG1 is connected to a sun gear 31, and a motor MG2 is connected via a drive shaft 32a to a ring gear 32, and in the second motive power distributing and integrating mechanism 35, the carrier 34 of the first motive power distributing and integrating mechanism 30 is connected to a carrier 39, the ring gear 32 of the first motive power distributing and integrating mechanism 30 is connected to a sun gear 36, and a motor MG3 is connected to a ring gear 37. This device can suppress a motive power circulation and improve the energy efficiency, by travelling by means of the engine 22, the motor MG1, and the motor MG2, with the torque of the motor MG3 at a value 0, except for the cruising travel at high speed, and travelling by means of the engine 22, the motor MG2, and the motor MG3, with the torque of the motor MG1 at a value 0 in the cruising travel at a high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
