PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric torque applying device for further improving durability of a worm and a worm wheel in a speed reducer mechanism and steering feeling, and a processing method of the worm wheel used in this device. SOLUTION: The electric torque applying device has an electric motor for applying torque to an output shaft via the speed reducer mechanism. The speed reducer mechanism is formed of at least the worm and the worm wheel 42. The worm wheel 42 is processed by a tooth tool 11 having a plurality of strips of spiral tooth sections 11a.
