PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that has a simple inclinometer to measure vertical and horizontal inclinations of a screen to a projected light axis in order to correct projected image distortion. SOLUTION: This inclinometer has a laser pointer 41 to project at least two points 81 on the screen 70 with prescribed spaces in vertical and horizontal directions, a digital camera disposed apart from a laser pointer 41 with spaces in vertical and horizontal directions to photograph the points on the screen through a lens 51, and a image analyzing inclination calculator to analyze the inclination of a line connecting the points photographed by the camera against a reference line from the photographed image 80 of an imaging element and to obtain the inclination of the projected light axis 27 to the screen 70 from the calculated inclination.
