PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamine compound which has excellent optical properties, and simultaneously gives an optical product having excellent heat resistance, impact resistance, weatherability, and dyeing properties. SOLUTION: The diamine compound is represented by formula (1) [wherein R<SB>1</SB>is a 1-10C hydrocarbon; R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>, and R<SB>4</SB>are each a 1-10C hydrocarbon or hydrogen; Y is a substituted or non-substituted straight chain, branched or cyclic 1-10C hydrocarbon group, a substituted or non-substituted 1,4-dithiane group, an arylene group or an aralkylene group; m=0-5; n=0-5; p is 0 or 1; and Ar<SB>1</SB>to Ar<SB>4</SB>are each hydrogen or Q-NH2(wherein Q is an aromatic hydrocarbon or a heterocycle), provided that two of Ar<SB>1</SB>to Ar<SB>4</SB>is Q-NH2].
