PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-conditioner for a vehicle capable of preventing a leaked refrigerant from flowing into a cabin when the refrigerant is leaked from an evaporator. SOLUTION: This vehicular air-conditioner is positioned in the cabin and the evaporator 24 is interposed in a refrigerant passage. The evaporator 24 includes an evaporator main body 28 having a plurality of cooling tubes 58, and having distribution tanks 44, 46 for communicating mutually fellow adjacent end parts of the plurality of cooling tubes 58 to supply and discharge the refrigerant to/from the cooling tubes 58, the first and second cover members 30, 32, 100 for surrounding the distribution tanks 44, 46 respectively, and having an inside formed into the first and second air-tight chambers 64, 66, and a refrigerant releasing means 74 having a safety valve 72 opened based on pressures inside the air-tight chambers 64, 66, and for communicating the air-tight chambers 64, 66 with an outside of the cabin through the safety valve 72, when the pressures inside the air-tight chambers 64, 66 is elevated exceeding a prescribed value.
