PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor realizing a good image quality by avoiding lowering of image quality resulting from relative relation of the image size and the period of a screen pattern when an image is written through screening, and to provide an image forming method and its program. SOLUTION: A rendering section 23 generates a raster image, judges the size of an image area being outputted and generates tag data based on the judgment results. A halftone generating section 24 sets appropriate screen parameters based on the tag data generated from the rendering section 23 and performs screening using the parameters thus set.
