PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar clamp easily operable with one hand. SOLUTION: A bar clamp 10 is equipped with a slide bar 12 having a first jaw 14 and a second jaw 16, the jaws 14 and 16 set in opposing relationship along the slide bar 12. The first jaw 14 may be advanced towards the second jaw 16 by a setting mechanism that is removably attachable to the first jaw 14. The setting mechanism for advancing the first jaw 14 has a hand lever 32 and hand grip 28 that act in concert upon manual squeezing to step-by-step advance of the first jaw 14. The bar clamp 10 also has a jaw comprising a body portion 40, bent along its length at an obtuse angle, which divides the body portion 40 into an upper portion 40a and a lower portion 40b.
