<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel repair method and a novel repair device for a wind power generation tower or the like, for largely reducing expenses and largely shortening work period required for recoating of a cylindrical large-sized tower such as a power generation tower or repair work or the like of a windmill, and preventing damages, as far as possible, of green constructed in all around the area to which the tower is installed. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises: a working process for winding and fixing a band for mounting a rail at two portions vertically spaced at predetermined intervals of an outer circumferential face of the tower; a working process disposing a rail for elevating of a regular dimension across bands for mounting a set of rails; a working process assembling a working platform with a drive device for elevating with the rail for elevating; a working process for sequentially jointing a plurality of rails for elevating toward an upper end of the tower by utilizing the working platform; and a process for performing repair work on the working platform.
