<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preventive appliance that prevents myopia and presbyopia by so-called externally giving far sight to a parson who looks near, at appropriate time intervals, and a method for preventing using it. <P>SOLUTION: The preventive appliance 1 comprises a pair of visual distance adjusting means 2 that is changeable between a non-lens state and a lens state giving prescribed binocular vision, and a control means 4 that controls the visual distance adjusting means 2.
