<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain accurate recording by obtaining an optimal value of each recording power in a system in which recording power of a specific mark length is recorded with a value different from that of the other mark lengths. <P>SOLUTION: All mark lengths can be formed accurately and accurate recording can be attained by comprising first test writing steps (S1 to S3) for performing test writing of a first predetermined test data while gradually varying the recording power except a specific pattern = 3T and calculating a first optimal recording power Pw(opt) from a reproduction signal of the recorded test writing data, and second test writing steps (S4 to S6) for gradually varying the recording power concerning the specific pattern = 3T, performing test writing of a second predetermined test data using the calculated first optimal recording power as a recording power concerning the other patterns, and calculating a second optimal recording power Pwex(opt), which is the optimal recording power of the specific pattern, from the reproduction signal of the recorded test writing data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
