<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain accurate recording by obtaining an optimal value of each recording power in a system for forming recording power into a multi-valued level using additive recording power. <P>SOLUTION: Since recording power and additive recording power are calculated respectively and individually and thereby information recording is carried out, a recording mark form and a mark position can be formed with accuracy and accurate recording can be performed by comprising first test writing steps (S1 to S3) for performing test writing of a first predetermined test data while gradually varying recording power and calculating optimal recording power from the reproduction signal, and second test writing steps (S4 to S6) for setting recording power to the calculated optimal recording power, also performing test writing of a second predetermined test data while gradually varying additive recording power to be added during a part of the recording power emitting period, and calculating optimal additive recording power from the reproduction signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
