<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method of higher versatility by unification of parameters for controlling pulse positions and pulse power. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of recording a recording mark of nT, a recording medium is irradiated with impulsive light by m recording pulses of Pw (n, i) in the i-th recording power and k bias pulses of power Pb and is irradiated with the first recording pulse with a delay by as much as Td (n, 1) in terms of time from the start edge of the data to be recorded and a recording strategy to make Td(n, 1)=Td(n+j, 1) is employed under the conditions of increasing the number of the recording pulses and the number of the bias pulses by one piece each at every increase of jT in the time length nT of the recording marks and thereby the rise time of the first recording pulse is controlled and unified from the relation between the number k of the bias pulses to be combined with the recording pulses and the n for regulating the time length nT of the recording marks and therefore the intricate recording strategy can be expressed by the few parameters.
